Angle indicatorTraction PedalsPress the traction forward pedal (Figure 30) to moveforward. Press traction reverse pedal (Figure 30) tomove backward or to assist in stopping when movingforward. Also, allow the pedal to move or move it to theneutral position to stop the machine.Mow/Transport SlideUsing your heel, move the mow/transport slide(Figure 30) to the left to transport and to the right tomow. The cutting units will only operate in the mowposition.Important: The mow speed is set at the factory to6 mph (9.7 km/h). It can be increased or decreasedby adjusting the speed stop screw (Figure 31).Figure 311. Speed stop screwTilt Steering LeverPull the tilt steering lever (Figure 30) back to adjust thesteering wheel to the desired position, then push thelever forward to tighten.Indicator SlotThe slot in the operator platform (Figure 30) indicateswhen the cutting units are in the center position.Angle IndicatorThe angle indicator (Figure 30) indicates the side hillangle of the machine in degrees.Ignition SwitchThe ignition switch (Figure 32), which is used to start,stop, and preheat the engine, has three positions:Off, On/Preheat, and Start. Rotate the key to theOn/Preheat position until the glow plug indicator lightgoes out (approximately 7 seconds); then rotate thekey to the Start position to engage the starter motor.Release the key when the engine starts. The key willmove automatically to the On/Run position. To shut theengine off, rotate the key to the Off position and removethe key from the switch to prevent accidental starting.Figure 321.
