Do not place objects between the remote controlunit and remote sensor.< Direct sunlight or very bright light will reduce the sensitivity of theremote sensor. If this is the case, use the control buttons on thecassette deck instead of the remote buttons.< It is possible that other infrared-ray-sensitive equipment nearbymay malfunction when you operate the remote control.Loading batteries into the remote control unitRemove the lid of the battery compartment, load two “AA” sizedbatteries in the indicated directions, and then replace the lid. Wheninserting batteries, be sure to observe proper polarity (+ and –).If you have to put the remote control unit quite close to the remotesensor or if any remote buttons do not work, then the batteries are nolonger fit for use and must be replaced. Be sure to always replace bothbatteries at once.Important Cautions for Handling BatteriesImproper battery use can result in leakage or rupture. Observe thefollowing instructions:< Load the batteries in the correct direction as indicated in thebattery compartment.< Do not mix old and new batteries, or mix different types or brandsof battery.< Do not heat, disassemble, or throw batteries into fire or water.< Do not store or carry batteries together with other small metalobjects. Doing so can cause battery shorting, leakage or rupture.< Do not try to recharge dry batteries.< When the cassette deck is not going to be used for a long time(more than one month), take the batteries out of the batterycompartment.< If leakage into the battery compartment is observed, wipe up anyliquid inside the compartment and load new batteries.
