T h e f o l l o w in g l i s t i s t h er ecommended p r ocedure f o r u n p a c k in g t h edrive.CHECKOUT3.2 P R EINSTALLATIONBefore applying power tothe drive, the follow-ing inspection should be conducted:4. Check t h e c o n t e nt s o f t h e c o n t a i n eragainst the packing slip.5. Investigate the contents of the con-tainer for possible damage.6 . W hen m o u n ted h o r i zontally, t h eLogic circuit board side of the chassis must bethe top side.Eight holes areprovided for mounting: two oneach side and four on the bottom of the hous-ing (see Figure 2-1). The two mount in g holeson each side are t a pped for 8-32 screws. Thef our m o u n t in g h o le s o n t h e b o t t o m r e q u i r e8-32 thread forming screws. When installed ine ither pl ane, horizontal or v e r t i c al, only t w omounting screws are required to securely holdthe drive in place.O ptional s t r aps ar e a v a i l able t o p e r mi t t w odrives to be attached together for installati onin standard width drive openings.A ny mount in g scheme in w h i c h t h e d r i v e i spart of t h e s t r u c t u ral i n t e gr it y o f t h e e n clo-sure i s n o t pe r m i t t ed , M o u n t i n g s c h e m esshould allow for adjustable brackets orincor-porate resilient members to accommodatetolerances.
