18 Setting UpSetting UpInitial SettingsBefore using the unit, configure the Windows settingswithin the unit. The description below describes thestandard settings in Windows 8.1.To reboot the unit, first shut down the unit and then turn the On/Standbybutton on the front panel on again, without rebooting Windows.1 Connect a keyboard and mouse to the USB connectorson the front panel, and connect a monitor to the HDMIconnector on the rear panel.2 Set the On/Standby button to the On position.3 When the Windows sign-in screen appears, enter “rs1”as the user name, enter “pws110rs1” as the password,and sign in.Configuring the network1 Connect a LAN cable to the LAN connector on the rearpanel of the unit, and connect the other end to thenetwork.2 Click [View network status and tasks] under [Networkand Internet] in the control panel.3 Click [Connections] > [LAN 1/2].4 Click the [Properties] button.5 Select [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)], thenclick the [Properties] button.6 Change the IP address and other settings.7 Click the [Advanced] button to configure DNS,WINS, and other settings.8 When finished, click the [OK] button.Setting the date and time1 Select [Set the time and date] under [Date and Time]in the [Clock, Language, and Region] control panel.2 Click [Change time zone] on the [Date and Time] tab,and select the time zone.3 Click [Change date and time] on the [Date and Time]tab, and set the date and time.4 Click the [Change settings] button on the [InternetTime] tab.5 Specify an NTP server, then click the [Update Now]button.6 Place a check mark in [Synchronize with an Internettime server] to periodically correct the clock using theNTP server.Changing user passwordsThe following default users are configured for Windowswithin the unit. Change the password for the user toprovide security.Depending on the operating environment, unauthorizedthird parties on the network may be able to access the unit.For security, we strongly recommend changing all thedefault passwords as follows.1 Click [User Accounts and Family Safety] in thecontrol panel.2 Click [User Accounts] > [Change account type].3 Select the “rs1” or “rs1user” user.4 Click [Change the password].5 Enter the current password, a new password and apassword hint, then click the [Change Password]button.Signing outWhen finished, sign out from Windows.1 Move the mouse cursor to the top right corner of thescreen to display the Charms bar, then click [Start].2 Click the account name on the top right of the screen,then click [Sign out].Displaying the Web ApplicationYou connect to the unit via the network from a client PCand use the web application in a web browser on the clientPC to control and configure the unit.NoteUser name Privileges Passwordrs1 Administrator pws110rs1rs1user General user pws110rs1user |
