Thesensitivity of the BluETooTh communication will improve by turning thedirection of the built-in antenna to the connected BluETooTh device. Thecommunication distance shortens when the obstacles are between theantenna of the connected device and this unit.Location ofbuilt-inantennaˎ The following conditions may affect the sensitivity of BluETooThcommunication.ē There is an obstacle such as a human body, metal, or wall between thisunit and BluETooTh device.ē A device using 2.4 Ghz frequency, such as a wireless lAN device, cordlesstelephone, or microwave oven, is in use near this unit.ˎ Because BluETooTh devices and wireless lAN (IEEE802.11b/g) use the samefrequency, microwave interference may occur and resulting incommunication speed deterioration, noise, or invalid connection if this unitis used near a wireless lAN device. In such a case, perform the following.ē use this unit at least 10 m away from the wireless lAN device.ē If this unit is used within 10 m of a wireless lAN device, turn off thewireless lAN device.ē Install this unit and BluETooTh device as near to each other as possible.ˎ Microwaves emitting from a BluETooTh device may affect the operation ofelectronic medical devices. Turn off this unit and other BluETooTh devicesin the following locations, as it may cause an accident:ē where inflammable gas is present, in a hospital, train, airplane, or a petrolstationē near automatic doors or a fire alarmˎ This unit supports security capabilities that comply with the BluETooThstandard to provide a secure connection when the BluETooTh wirelesstechnology is used, but security may not be enough depending on thesetting. Be careful when communicating using BluETooTh wirelesstechnology.ˎ We do not take any responsibility for the leakage of information duringBluETooTh communication.ˎ Connection with all BluETooTh devices cannot be guaranteed.ē A device featuring BluETooTh function is required to conform to theBluETooTh standard specified by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and beauthenticated.ē Even if the connected device conforms to the above mentionedBluETooTh standard, some devices may not be connected or workcorrectly, depending on the features or specifications of the device.ē While talking on the phone hands free, noise may occur, depending on thedevice or communication environment.ˎ Depending on the device to be connected, it may require some time to startcommunication.If you cannot operate the unitˎ Reset the unit.Insert a small pin, etc., into the hole, and push it until you feel a click. Pairinginformation is not deleted.ˎ If you are still unable to operate the unit even after the resetting operationabove, initialize the unit as follows.Turn off the unit by pressing the PoWER button for more than 2 seconds.Then, press and hold the PoWER button and the / button togetherfor about 7 seconds. The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, and the unit is resetto the factory settings. All pairing information is deleted.What is noise canceling?ˎ The noise canceling circuit actually senses outside noise with built-inmicrophones and sends an equal-but-opposite canceling signal to the unit.ē The noise canceling effect may not be pronounced in a very quietenvironment, or some noise may be heard.ē The noise canceling effect may vary depending on how you wear the unit.ē The noise canceling function works for noise in the low frequency bandprimarily. Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled completely.ē When you use the unit in a train or a car, noise may occur depending onstreet conditions.ē Mobile phones may cause interference and noise. Should this occur, locatethe unit further away from the mobile phone.ē Do not cover the microphones of the headphones (MIC) with your hands.The noise canceling function may not work properly.MICOn charging the unitˎ This unit can be charged using uSB only. Personal computer with uSB port isrequired for charging.ˎ This unit cannot be turned on, and the BluETooTh function and noisecanceling function cannot be used while charging.Note on static electricityˎ Static electricity accumulated in the body may cause mild tingling in yourears. To minimise the effect, wear clothes made from natural materials.Othersˎ Do not place this unit in a place exposed to humidity, dust, soot or steam,subject to direct sunlight, or in a car waiting at a traffic signal. It may cause amalfunction.ˎ using the BluETooTh device may not function on mobile phones,depending on radio wave conditions and location where the equipment isbeing used.ˎ If you experience discomfort after using the BluETooTh device, stop usingthe BluETooTh device immediately. Should any problem persist, consultyour nearest Sony dealer.ˎ listening with this unit at high volume may affect your hearing. For trafficsafety, do not use this unit while driving or cycling.ˎ Do not put weight or pressure on this unit as it may cause the unit to deformduring long storage.ˎ Do not subject the unit to excessive shock.ˎ Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth.ˎ Do not expose the unit to water.
