You can open up disc space byerasing titles (page 67).• The contents are dubbed in the currentrecording mode for analogue broadcastingand external input (the default setting isSP). To check or change the recordingmode, press INPUT to switch the inputsource to analogue broadcasting or theexternal input, and press REC MODErepeatedly.z• If you want to dub by way of the LINE IN jacks,see “Recording from Connected Equipment” onpage 45.• If you want to dub the contents of the HDDcamcorder on a DVD, dub them to the HDD ofthe recorder first, and then edit the title on theHDD and dub it to a DVD.• Parts that have finished dubbing remain on therecorder when the disc space of the recorderbecomes full or you stop dubbing partway.• Dolby Digital 5.1ch audio recorded in the HDDcamcorder is down-converted to 2ch audio whendubbed to the recorder.b• No timer recordings or other operations areavailable when dubbing from the HDDcamcorder.• The supported device is Sony HDD SD(standard definition) camcorder released in orbefore April 2009.• The recorder does not support the AVCHDformat (HD (high definition) image quality).You can dub MPEG-2 format images (SD(standard definition) images) only.• When the HDD camcorder contains still imagesand moving images, only moving images can bedubbed to the recorder.• Playlist made with the HDD camcorder cannotbe dubbed to the recorder.• When dubbing from the HDD camcorder, therecorder recognises and uses the shooting dateand time information of the HDD camcorder. Ifthe HDD camcorder’s clock is incorrect, therecorder may not dub the contents properly. Setthe HDD camcorder’s clock correctly beforeshooting.• You cannot record date, time, or the contents ofthe HDD camcorder memory onto the recorder.• If you dub the contents recorded in high qualitymode in the HDD camcorder to the recorder, itmay take longer to finish dubbing than therecording.• Set the recorder and HDD camcorder to the samecolour system.• When the total number of titles on the HDD ofthe recorder exceeds 999, you cannot dub thecontents on the HDD camcorder to the recorder.How titles and chapters are createdIn each dubbing operation, the contentsdubbed to the recorder are divided into titlesby the shooting date. If the date has beenchanged to the next day during one shootingsession, the shot image is included in the titleof the date when the shooting session started.The title is divided into chapters. Eachshooting session on the HDD camcorderbecomes a chapter.zThe title names are automatically labelled as “USB*** (start time of the first shooting session).”bEven if the scenes are recorded on the same day,they are dubbed and divided into two or more titleswhen the total recording time exceeds 8 hours orthe total number of scenes exceeds 99.,continued
