22GBHDMI features• A digital audio signal transmitted by HDMIcan be output from the speakers connected tothis receiver. This signal supports DolbyDigital, DTS, and Linear PCM.• This receiver supports xvYCC transmission.• This receiver supports the Control for HDMIfunction. For details, see “Control forHDMI” (page 57).Notes on HDMI connections• Audio signals input to the HDMI IN jack canonly be output from the SPEAKERS jacksand HDMI OUT jack. The audio inputsignals cannot be output from any otheraudio jacks.• Video signals input to the HDMI IN jack canonly be output from the HDMI OUT jack.The video input signals cannot be outputfrom the VIDEO OUT jacks or MONITOROUT jacks.• When you want to listen to the sound fromthe TV speaker, set “AUDIO FOR HDMI”to “TV+AMP” in the VIDEO menu (page43). If you cannot play back multi channelsoftware, set to “AMP”. However, the soundwill not output from the TV speaker.• The multi/stereo area audio signals of aSuper Audio CD are not output.• Audio signals (sampling frequency, bitlength, etc.) transmitted from an HDMI jackmay be suppressed by the connectedcomponent. Check the setup of theconnected component if the image is poor orthe sound does not come out of a componentconnected via the HDMI cable.• Sound may be interrupted when thesampling frequency, the number of channelsor the audio format of the audio outputsignals from the playback component isswitched.• When the connected component is notcompatible with copyright protectiontechnology (HDCP), the image and/or thesound from the HDMI OUT jack may bedistorted or may not be output.In this case, check the specification of theconnected component.• You can enjoy multi channel Linear PCMonly with an HDMI connection.• Set the resolution of the image of theplayback component to 720p, 1080i or1080p when you output 96 kHz multichannel sound over an HDMI connection.• We do not recommend using an HDMI-DVIconversion cable. When you connect anHDMI-DVI conversion cable to a DVI-Dcomponent, the sound and/or the image maynot be output.• You may need to made certain settings onthe image resolution of the player before youcan enjoy multi-channel Linear PCM. Referto the operating instructions of the player.• Refer to the operating instructions of eachconnected component for details.
