Any other use will be considered improperand consequently dangerous. The manufacturerwill not be held responsible for any damagearising from misuse or improper use.General safety instructions• This appliance is to be connected and used inaccordance with the information stated on itscharacteristics plate.• This appliance must be connected to anearthed socket. If it is absolutely necessaryto use an extension cable, make sure that itis suitable for 16A and has a socket with anearth connection.• The iron should not be used if it has beendropped, if there are visible signs of damageor if it is leaking water. It must be checked byan authorized Technical Service Centre beforeit can be used again.• If the safety fuse fitted in the appliance blows,the appliance will be rendered inoperative. Torestore normal operation the appliance willhave to be taken to an authorised TechnicalService Centre.• In order to avoid that, under unfavourablemains conditions, phenomena like transientvoltage drops or lighting fluctuations canhappen, it is recommended that the iron isconnected to a power supply system with amaximum impedance of 0.27 Ω .
