11Thank you for buying the slider SL10 steamstation, the new steam-ironing system fromSiemens.Carefully read through the operatinginstructions for the appliance and safeguardthem for future reference.IntroductionThese instructions for use contain valuableinformation about the unique features of thissystem and some hints to make ironing easierfor you.We hope that you enjoy ironing with this steamstation.ImportantOpen out the first page of the booklet, thiswill help you to understand how the applianceworks.This appliance complies with international safetystandards.This appliance has been designed exclusivelyfor domestic use and must not be used forindustrial purposes.This appliance must only be used only for thepurposes for which it was designed, i.e. as aniron. Any other use will be considered improperand consequently dangerous. The manufacturerwill not be held responsible for any damagearising from misuse or improper use.General safety instructions• This appliance is to be connected and used inaccordance with the information stated on itscharacteristics plate.• This appliance must be connected to anearthed socket. If it is absolutely necessaryto use an extension cable, make sure that itis suitable for 16A and has a socket with anearth connection.• The iron should not be used if it has beendropped, if there are visible signs of damageor if it is leaking water. It must be checked byan authorized Technical Service Centre beforeit can be used again.• If the safety fuse fitted in the appliance blows,the appliance will be rendered inoperative. Torestore normal operation the appliance willhave to be taken to an authorised TechnicalService Centre.• In order to avoid that, under unfavourablemains conditions, phenomena like transientvoltage drops or lighting fluctuations canhappen, it is recommended that the iron isconnected to a power supply system with amaximum impedance of 0.27 Ω . If necessary,the user can ask the public power supplycompany for the system impedance at theinterface point.• This appliance is not intended to be usedby persons (including children) with reducedphysical, sensory or mental capacities, or lackof experience and knowledge, unless theyhave been given supervision or instructionconcerning the use of the appliance by aperson responsible for their safety.• Children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance.• Remove the plug from the socket before fillingthe appliance with water or before pouring outthe remaining water after use.• The appliance must never be placed directlyunder the tap to fill the water tank.• Boiler´s cap must not be opened during use.• The appliance must be used and placed on astable surface.• When placed on its stand, make sure thatthe surface on which the stand is placed isstable.• The iron must not be left unattended while it isconnected to the supply mains.• Unplug the appliance from the mains supplyafter each use, or if a fault is suspected.• The electrical plug must not be removed fromthe socket by pulling the cable.• Never immerse the iron or steam tank in wateror any other fluid.• Do not leave the appliance exposed toweather conditions (rain, sun, frost, etc.).• With the aim of avoiding dangerous situations,any work or repair that the appliance mayneed, e.g. replacing a faulty mains cable, mustonly be carried out by qualified personnel froman Authorised Technical Service Centre.Important :• This appliance reaches high temperatures andproduces steam during use, this could causescalds or burns in case of improper use.• The steam hose, base station and in particularthe iron can get hot when used.en
