Causes of damage en7]Causes of damageCausesofdamage Caution!■ Transporting the appliance: Do not carry or hold theappliance by the door handle. The door handlecannot support the weight of the appliance andcould break.■ Creation of sparks: Metal – e.g. a spoon in a glass –must be kept at least 2 cm from the cookingcompartment walls and the inside of the door.Sparks can irreparably damage the glass on theinside of the door.■ Foil containers: Do not use foil containers in theappliance. They damage the appliance by producingsparks.■ Operating the microwave without food: Operating theappliance without food in the cooking compartmentmay lead to overloading. Never switch on themicrowave unless there is food inside. The shortcrockery test is the exception to this rule.~ "Microwave" on page 11■ Moisture in the cooking compartment: Over anextended period of time, moisture in the cookingcompartment may lead to corrosion. Allow thecooking compartment to dry after use. Do not keepmoist food in the closed cooking compartment forextended periods of time. Do not store food in thecooking compartment.■ Extremely dirty seal: If the seal is very dirty, theappliance door will no longer close properly duringoperation. The fronts of adjacent units could bedamaged. Always keep the seal clean.~ "Cleaning" on page 16■ Cooling with the appliance door open: Only leave thecooking compartment to cool with the door closed.Do not trap anything in the appliance door. Even ifthe door is only left open a crack, the front of nearbyfurniture may become damaged over time.■ Do not place or hang anything on the appliance door– it is not a supporting surface. Do not place anycookware or accessories on the appliance door.■ Microwave popcorn: Never set the microwave outputtoo high. Use a maximum microwave output of 600watts. Always place the popcorn bag on a glassplate.
