Release the iron from its lock system (14) bypulling the lever located at the heel of the ironbackwards.2. Remove any label or protective covering fromthe soleplate.3. Place the appliance horizontally on a solid,stable surface. You may remove the iron padfrom the appliance and place the iron on it onanother solid, stable, horizontal surface.4. Fill the water tank, making sure not to pass thelevel mark.5. Unwind the mains cable (6) fully and plug itinto an earthed socket.6. Set the main power switch (13) to the onposition.7. The “Steam ready” indicator lamp (9) will lightup after several minutes, indicating that theappliance is ready to use.The steam generator will take more time toreach “Steam ready” state only upon the initialheating up, or after performing the de-scalingoperation (Calc’n’Clean).When water is already present in the steamgenerator during regular use, heat up time toreach the operating temperature will be faster.• This appliance is to be connected and used inaccordance with the information stated on itscharacteristics plate.• This appliance must be connected to anearthed socket. If it is absolutely necessary touse an extension cable, make sure that it issuitable for 16A and has a socket with an earthconnection.• If the safety fuse fitted in the appliance blows,the appliance will be rendered inoperative. Torestore normal operation the appliance willhave to be taken to an authorised TechnicalService Centre.• In order to avoid that, under unfavourablemains conditions, phenomena like transientvoltage drops or lighting fluctuations canhappen, it is recommended that the iron isconnected to a power supply system with amaximum impedance of 0.27Ω . If necessary,the user can ask the public power supplycompany for the system impedance at theinterface point.• The appliance must never be placed directlyunder the tap to fill the water tank.• Unplug the appliance from the mains supplyafter each use, or if a fault is suspected.• The electrical plug must not be removed fromthe socket by pulling the cable.• Never immerse the iron in water or any otherfluid.• Do not leave the appliance exposed to weatherconditions (rain, sun, frost, etc.)Important:▪ This appliance reaches high temperatures andproduces steam during use, this could causescalds or burns if not used properly.▪ The steam hose, base station, metal plate atthe bottom of the removable iron pad (2) and inparticular the iron can get hot when used. Thisis normal.▪ Never aim the steam at people or animals.▪ Do not allow the power cable to come intocontact with the soleplate when it is hot.▪ Be aware that the system can keep onsteaming for a short additional time afterreleasing the steam trigger. This is a normalfunction. |
