Tool management8.5 Tool listUniversal194 Operating Manual, 03/2013, 6FC5398-6AP40-3BA18.5.2 Creating a new toolWhen creating a new tool, the "New tool - favorites" window offers you a number of selectedtool types, known as "favorites".If you do not find the desired tool type in the favorites list, then select the milling, drilling,grinding or special tool via the corresponding softkeys.NoteGrinding toolsOnly grinding tools are available depending on the particular machine configuration.Procedure1.. The tool list is opened.2. Place the cursor in the tool list at the position where the new toolshould be stored.For this, you can select an empty magazine location or the NC toolmemory outside of the magazine.You may also position the cursor on an existing tool in the area of theNC tool memory. Data from the displayed tool will not be overwritten.3. Press the "New tool" softkey.The "New tool - favorites" window opens.- OR -...If you want to create a tool that is not in the "Favorites" list, press thesoftkey "Cutters 100-199", "Drill 200-299", Grinders 400-499" or "Spec.tool 700-900".The "New tool - milling cutter", "New tool - drill", "New tool - grindingtool" or "New tool - special tools" window opens.4. Select the tool by placing the cursor on the corresponding icon.5. Press the "OK" softkey.The tool is added to the tool list with a predefined name. If the cursoris located on an empty magazine location in the tool list, then the toolis loaded to this magazine location.The tool creation sequence can be defined differently.
