6Instructions for use with a PBX systemIf the telephone is connected to a PBXsystem, you must program the trunk accesscodes before you can use the telephone.The telephone will automatically insert apause after the access code so that it willnot be necessary to interrupt dialing to waitfor the CO dial tone. A maximum of twoaccess codes, each having one or twodigits, can be programmed.Programming one access code:Lift the handsetPress the PROG keyPress the number 0: Enter the access code (1 or 2 digits)Press the PROG keyListen for the confirmation tone (longbeep)Replace the handsetProgramming two access codes:Lift the handsetPress the PROG keyPress the number 0: Enter the first access code (1 or 2digits)Press the REDIAL key: Enter the second access code (1 or 2digits)Press the PROG keyListen for the confirmation tone (longbeep)Replace the handsetErasing the programmed access codes:Lift the handsetPress the PROG keyPress the number 0Press the PROG keyListen for the confirmation tone (longbeep)Replace the handsetSetting the handset volumeThis telephone allows you to adjust thehandset volume.
