12some models:High-speed hand blenderFor blending mayonnaises, sauces, soups,mixed drinks, baby food and for crushing iceand cutting cooked fruit and vegetables.Fig.  Push up the catch on the rear apertureuntil it locks into position. Insert the high-speed hand blender andlock into position. Put ingredients into the blender jug. Move the switch to the left toinstantaneous switching and hold inplace. After working, remove the high-speedhand blender by simultaneously pressingboth release buttons. Close the catch on the rear aperture.Note:To prevent the food from splashing, firstimmerse the high-speed hand blender intothe food, then switch on the appliance.After using the appliance/cleaningWarning!Never immerse the base unit in water and donot clean in the dishwasher.Do not use a steam cleaner! Remove mains plug. Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth andthen wipe dry. Clean the tools and high-speed handblender in the dishwasher or with a brushunder running water.Note: If processing e.g. red cabbage, theplastic parts will become discoloured by a redfilm which can be removed with a few dropsof cooking oil. The power cord can be wound up tofacilitate storage of the appliance(Fig. ).Note:Appliances with spiral cable (Fig. ):Never wind the cable around the appliance!TroubleshootingSwitch cannot be moved to settings 1 to 5.Remedial action:When the rear aperture is open, selectorswitch 1–5 will not function. The catch mustbe completely closed.RecipesWhipped cream100 g–500 g Whip cream with the stirrer for ½ to5 minutes at setting 5 (depending on thequantity and properties of the cream).Egg white1 to 5 egg whites Using the stirrer, beat egg whites for2 to 5 minutes at setting 5.Sponge mixtureBasic recipe2 eggs2–3 tbs. hot water100 g sugar1 packet of vanilla sugar70 g flour70 g cornflourBaking powder if required Beat the ingredients (except flour andcornflour) with the stirrer for approx. 3–4minutes at setting 5 until frothy. Switch appliance to setting 1, mix siftedflour and cornflour by the spoonful withinapprox. ½ to 1 minute.Maximum quantity: 2 x basic recipeenImportant informationWhen the rear aperture is open, theappliance can be operated usinginstantaneous switching only.
