35Operating the desktop phone answering machineDiverting an external call to theanswering machineYou can divert an incoming external call tothe answering machine, even if it is deacti-vated.Prerequisite: An external call is signalled onthe desktop phone, the receive connectionis assigned to an answering machine:§Options§ ¢ Divert to AMSelect and press §OK§.The answering machine starts in answer &record mode and records the call.Activating/deactivating two-wayrecordYou can record an external call with theanswering machine.Prerequisite: The MSN is assigned to ananswering machine as a receive connection.¤ Inform the caller that the call is beingrecorded.§Options§ ¢ Two-Way RecordSelect and press §OK§.§End§ End two-way record.Activating/deactivating callscreeningWhile recording a message, you can screen acall via the desktop phone speaker or regis-tered handsets.Permanently activating/deactivatingcall screeningv ¢ Ì ¢ Call Screening¢ Desktop Phone / Handset (³= on)§Change§ Activate/deactivate call screen-ing.Deactivating call screening for thecurrent recording§Silence§ Press the display key.Answering a calld / c Press the handsfree key or pickup the receiver.Operating when on the move(remote operation)You can check and activate your answeringmachine from any other telephone (hotel,pay phone etc.).Prerequisites:u You have set a system PIN other than0000 (page 39).u The phone you are using for remote oper-ation has tone dialling (DTMF).u The connection/MSN via which you call isassigned to the answering machine as areceive connection.Calling the answering machine andplaying messages~ Dial your own number.9 ~ When you hear your announce-ment, press 9 and enter thesystem PIN.You are informed whether any new mes-sages have been recorded. The messages areplayed. The following keys are used for oper-ation:A During time stamp playback:Skip to previous message.During message playback: Skipto the start of the current mes-sage.B Stop playback. Press again toresume.3 Go to the next messageD Repeat the last five seconds ofthe message0 During message playback:Delete current message.: Change the status of a previ-ously played back message to"new". |
