GB-8ENGLISHIMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSNever heat liquids in narrow neckedcontainers such as baby bottles,as this may result in the contentserupting from the container whenheated and cause burns.To prevent sudden eruption of boilingliquid and possible scalding:1. Do not use excessive amount of time.2. Stir liquid prior to heating/reheating.3. It is advisable to insert a glass rod orsimilar utensil (not metal) into theliquid whilst reheating.4. Let liquid stand for at least 20 secondsin the oven at the end of cooking timeto prevent delayed eruptive boiling.3. Pierce the skin of such foods as potatoes,sausages and fruit before cooking, orthey may explode.To avoid the possibility of burns1. Use pot holders or oven gloves whenremoving food from the oven to preventburns.2. Always open containers, popcornmakers, oven cooking bags, etc., awayfrom the face and hands to avoid steamburns and eruption of boiling.3. To avoid burns, always test foodtemperature and stir before servingand pay special attention to thetemperature of food and drink givento babies, children or the elderly.Temperature of the container is nota true indication of the temperatureof the food or drink; always check thefood temperature.4. Always stand back from the oven doorwhen opening it to avoid burns fromescaping steam and heat.5. Slice stuffed baked foods after heatingto release steam and avoid burns.To avoid misuse by children1. Do not lean or swing on the oven door.2. Children should be taught all importantsafety instructions: use of pot holders,careful removal of food coverings;paying special attention to packaging(e.g. self-heating materials) designed tomake food crisp, as they may be extrahot.d) Inside the oven cavity or on the door;make sure there are no dents.e) The power supply cord and plug;ensure that they are not damaged.2. Do not operate the oven with the dooropen or alter the door safety latches inany way.3. Do not operate the oven if there is anobject between the door seals andsealing surfaces.4. Do not allow grease or dirt to build upon the door seals and adjacent parts.Clean the oven at regular intervals andremove any food deposits. Follow theinstructions for ''Care and Cleaning'' onpage GB-18.5. I n d i v i d u a l s w i t h PA C E M A K E R Sshould check with their doctor or themanufacturer of the pacemaker forprecautions regarding microwave ovens.To avoid the possibility of electric shock1. Under no circumstances should youremove the outer cabinet.2. Never spill or insert any objects intothe door lock openings or ventilationopenings. In the event of a spill, turn offand unplug the oven immediately, andcall an authorised SHARP service agent.3. Do not immerse the power supply cordor plug in water or any other liquid.4. Do not let the power supply cord hangover the edge of a table or work surface.5. Keep the power supply cord away fromheated surfaces, including the rear of theoven.6. Do not attempt to replace the oven lampyourself or allow anyone who is not anelectrician authorised by SHARP to do so.If the oven lamp fails, please consult yourdealer or an authorised SHARP serviceagent.To avoid the possibility of explosion andsudden boiling:1. Never use sealed containers. Removeseals and lids b efore use. Seale dcontainers can explode due to a build upof pressure even after the oven has beenturned off.2. Take care when microwaving liquids.Use a wide mouthed container to allowbubbles to escape. |
