– 14 – ENVCR FUNCTIONSSETUPOTHER OPERATIONSTo Cue or Review Picture during Playback (Speed Search)Press FWD g or REV h.• Press it again and the VCR/DVD will search in super high speed.• Super high speed is not available for an NTSC tape.• The sound will be muted during Speed Search.To Freeze the Picture on TV Screen during Playback (Still Picture)Press STILL/PAUSE F. Each time you press the button, the picture willbe forwarded by one frame.• If the picture begins to vibrate vertically during the still mode, stabi-lise the picture by pressing CH K / L.• If the picture is distorted or rolling vertically, adjust the vertical holdcontrol on your TV, if equipped.Hint for “Speed Search” and “Still Picture”• Usually there will be video “noise” lines (black and white streaks ordots) on the screen. This is normal. The still picture will, in additionto containing the “noise” lines, be black and white. This is not a faultof the machine but merely a by-product of the technology involvedin producing a VCR with LP mode.Counter ResetPress CLEAR/C-RESET.To Play Back in Slow MotionPress SLOW during playback or the still mode.• You can control the speed by pressing FWD g(faster) orREV h(slower). Press PLAY B to return to normal playback.• If the noise bars appear on the TV screen, you can reduce it bypressing CH K / L.Auto RewindWhen a tape reaches its end during playback, fast forward, or record-ing (except Timer Recording and One Touch Recording), the tape willautomatically rewind to the beginning. After rewinding finishes, theVCR/DVD will eject the tape.Hint• Still/Slow/Pause mode will be automatically cancelled after 5 min-utes to prevent damage to the tape and the video head.• To return to playback from the Speed Search/Still/Slow mode,press PLAY B.4. If this occurs, you can adjust thetracking control manually by pressing CH K / L until the streaks disappear.
