55SettingsSETTINGSSoftware Update SettingsIn this player, the software version can be updatedusing either one of the following methods.• Auto Update from Network• Manual Update from Network• Manual Update from USB memory deviceAuto Update from NetworkThis function allows you to perform the update byaccessing an Internet connection automatically tocheck if there is a new firmware version every timethe player is turned on.When using this function, it is required to performthe following settings in advance.NOTE• Make sure that the LAN cable or the wireless LANadapter is connected to this player and make sure thatthe wireless router/access point is connected to theInternet if using the wireless LAN adapter. (See pages19–20.)• Make sure to perform the communication settings. (Seepages 50–53.)• It may take time to access and download the updatedepending on the Internet connection and other factors.CAUTION• Do not remove the LAN cable or the wireless LANadapter or unplug the AC cord while downloading orupdating software.Setup1 Press c/d to select “Settings”, then press b orENTER.2 Press c/d to select “Software UpdateSettings”, then press b or ENTER.3 Press a/b to select “Auto Update Setting”,then press d or ENTER.4 Press a/b to select “Yes”, then press ENTER.• After this, an Internet connection will be madeautomatically every time this player is turned on.Update process1 When this player is turned on, the Internetconnection starts automatically.• “Accessing...” blinks on the screen.• The current version of this unit software and thelatest version of the update file on the network aredisplayed when latest version of firmware has beenfound.To update this player software with update file,select “Yes”, and go to step 2.Latest version of firmware has been found.Firmware update is available.Proceed with update?If “Yes” will be selected, version update will start.Current Version :Latest Version :xxxxxxxxxxyyyyyyyyyyYesNo• If the latest firmware version has been alreadyupdated, nothing is displayed on the screen.2 Press ENTER to start updating.Downloading latest firmware…Version : yyyyyyyyyy30%3 When the software is successfully updated, ascreen is displayed indicating that the updateprocess is completed.• If the update has failed, an error message appears.Retry the update after checking if the broadbandInternet connection (pages 19–20) and communicationsettings (pages 50–53) are performed properly.4 Press POWER to turn off the player before usingagain.
