The POWER key does not turn the power on oroff; rather, it is used to switch the machine between STAND-BY mode (fornormal operation) and SLEEP: RX ONLY mode (only fax reception can takeplace). The POWER key cannot be used until print cartridges have beeninstalled.Note:“CHECK BOTH CART.” normally appears in the display the firsttime you plug in the machine. This message appears until you installthe print cartridges.
