FOR DETAILED INFORMATION, CONTACT YOUR LOCALCOUNTY SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY.Step 1. Look in the codes chart for your TV, VCR, DVD,Cable Box, and Satellite Receiver brand codes.Step 2. Press and hold the TV, VCR, CABLE, DVD, SAT(Satellite), or AUX (Auxiliary) mode key whileentering a three-digit code number. Then release themode key.If the code was accepted, the ActivityLamp will flash 5 times after theMode key is released. If you enteredan invalid code, the Activity Lampwill will not flash. Check the codenumber and repeat Step 2.The VCR, TV, Cable Box, DVD, and Satellite modes willaccept only each mode’s specific code type.The AUX mode will accept all code types, but only one at a time.Perform Steps 1 and 2 for each piece of equipment you have.After entering each code number check the unit’s operation bypressing the Power and/or Channel keys. If these keys operateyour equipment, you have probably entered the correct codenumber for that device. If not, follow Steps 1 and 2 and enteranother code, if available.After programming the remote control and confirming itsoperation, enter your codes in the spaces below for easy reference.PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE CONTROLOPERATING TIPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS– To operate each device (VCR, TV, Cable Box, DVD Player,or Satellite Receiver), you must first program the remotecontrol, then press the proper mode key. The VCR, TV, andDVD modes are preprogrammed with Sanyo codes.– Some manufacturers use many different codes. If yourbrand of equipment has more than one code listed, tryprogramming your remote with the different availablecodes until you locate the correct one for your device.– There may be VCRs, TVs, DVDs, Cable Converter Boxes,and Satellite Receivers that this remote control cannotoperate. Some models may operate only partially.– The Reset and Caption keys only operate Sanyo TVs.– Codes will remain in memory for five minutes as youreplace batteries.– Remove batteries from the remote control if it will not beused for a month or more. Weak batteries may leak anddamage the remote control.– This remote control uses an invisible (infrared) beam oflight to operate the equipment. Objects between theequipment and the remote control can block the beam oflight. Therefore, the remote control must be pointeddirectly at the equipment you want to operate.– This remote control cannot add keys or features to yourequipment. Your equipment’s manufacturer must haveoriginally provided them.– When switching from the VCR or DVD mode to the TVmode, the VCR/DVD specific control keys will continueto operate the last device (mode) selected. For example,when switching from DVD to TV mode, the VCR/DVDcontrol keys will continue to function as DVD keys.– Replace the batteries if the remote control fails to operateany of your equipment. Be sure to install batteries correctly.– Many of the remote control keys are multi-functional.Refer to the chart on the inside of the carton for a briefdescription of the keys and their functions.
