55Lamp controlFilter controlChoose the running speed of cooling fans from the followingoptions.Normal ....... Operate in this mode under normal conditions.Max ........... Use this mode when you want to increase thecooling effect when operating the projector in highambient temperature environment. Fan noise islouder than “Normal”.Fan controlThis function allows you to change the brightness of the screen.Auto . . . . . Brightness according to the input signal.Normal . . . Normal brightness.Eco 1. . . . . Lower brightness and Fan control set to Normal.Lower brightness reduces the lamp powerconsumption and extends the lamp life.Eco 2. . . . . Lower brightness and Fan control set to Max.Lower brightness reduces the lamp powerconsumption and extends the lamp life. It isrecommended to use Eco 2 when using theprojector continuously over a long period of time.The fan noise becomes louder in Eco 2 than inEco 1. Select the suitable mode for the usedenvironment.You can replace the filter with this function. Press the SELECTbutton at Filter control to display a confirmation box. To replace,press the SELECT button at “YES” and the electrically operatedfilter starts to scroll.You can also replace the filter by using the remote control (p. 33).Setting✔Note:• Filter replacement icon and “Please wait...”message appear on the screen when thefilter is being scrolled.• The filter cannot be rewound.• When the filter is replaced, the totalaccumulated time of the filter use isautomatically set to 0.Remote controlWhen pressing the SELECT button atRemote control, the Remote controlmenu appears.This function allows you to change the Simple mode and RC codesetting on the remote control.Simple modeThis function decides whether to activate the simple mode.Off . . . . Simple mode function is off.On . . . . Only the simple mode buttons are active.RC codeThe eight different remote control codes (Code 1–Code 8) areassigned to the projector; the factory-set, initial code (Code 1) andthe other seven codes (Code 2 to Code 8). After selecting the RCcode, move the red arrow pointer to the Quit icon and press theSELECT button to set the RC code.The same code should set on both the projector and the remotecontrol. For example, operating the projector in “Code 7”, theremote control code also must be switched to “Code 7”.To change the code for the projector:Select a remote control code in this Setting Menu.To change the code for the remote control:Press and hold the MENU button and a number button (1–8) onthe remote control for more than five seconds to switch betweenthe codes (p. 17).Simple mode buttonsOnly these buttons are activewhen the simple mode is set to“On.“ [ON, STAND-BY, INPUT,AUTO PC, INFO., MENU, SCREEN,SHUTTER, ed7 8, SELECT,VOL.+, VOL.-, MUTE, RESET/ON/ALL-OFF switch]Number buttons (p.15) alsobecome active only when settingthe remote control codes numbersor entering the PIN code numbers(pp. 54, 58).Remote control✔Note:• If you do not select the Quit icon and exitthe Remote control menu, the RC code willnot be set.Quit
