Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized orgrounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades withone wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has twoblades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or thethird prong are provided for your safety. If the providedplug does not fit fully into your outlet, consult an electri-cian for replacement of the obsolete outlet.10. Protect the power cord from being walked on orpinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles,and the point where they exit from the apparatus.11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by themanufacturer.12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod,bracket, or table specified by the manu-facturer, or sold with the apparatus.When a cart is used, use caution whenmoving the cart/apparatus combinationto avoid injury from tip-over.13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or whenunused for long periods of time.14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.Servicing is required when the apparatus has beendamaged in any way, such as power-supply cord orplug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects havefallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has beenexposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally,or has been dropped.15. If an outside antenna is connected to the televisionequipment, be sure the antenna system is grounded soas to provide some protection against voltage surgesand built up static charges. In the U.S. Selection 810-21of the National Electrical Code provides information withrespect to proper grounding of the mast and supportingstructure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antennadischarge unit, size of grounding conductors, location ofantenna discharge unit, connection to grounding elec-trodes, and requirements for the grounding electrodes.16. An outside antenna system should not be located in thevicinity of overhead power lines or other electrical lightor power circuits, or where it can fall into such powerlines or circuits. When installing an outside antennasystem, extreme care should be taken to keep fromtouching such power lines or circuits as contact withthem might be fatal.EXAMPLE OF ANTENNA GROUNDING ACCORDINGTO NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, ANSI/NFPA 70“Note to CATV system installer:This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer’sattention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines forproper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cableground shall be connected to the grounding system of the build-ing, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.”17. Wall or Ceiling Mounting—The product should bemounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended bythe manufacturer.18. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashingand no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall beplaced on the apparatus.19.
