Closed-Captioning is hidden textual informationtransmitted along with the picture and sound.Turning Captioning ON causes the DTV to openthese captions and superimpose them on thescreen. Because different types of closed-captions can be transmitted with the pictureand sound, separate captioning modes are pro-vided. The captioning modes recognized by thismodel are: Analog EIA-608B and Digital EIA-708B.
