9 EnglishCAUTIONInsert and pull out the cable carefullyi When connecting the cables, make sure that the cable plugs are correctlyoriented and that they match the shapes of the terminal sockets on thedevices. Push the plugs in straight when connecting them. If undue force isused to connect a cable, it may permanently damage the connector pins inthe terminal socket.i Do not use excessive force when connecting and disconnecting cables.i Please connect the dedicated USB interface cable to your computer’s USBconnector. Do not connect it to the USB port on your monitor or keyboard,or to the USB hub. Be especially careful when installing the driversoftware. In some instances, it may not be possible to correctly install thedriver software.Do not exchange data bi-directionallyi While copying data from the camera to the computer in the card readermode, do not perform any operation that would copy the computer data tothe camera.Concerning recharging while connected to theUSB terminali The battery pack can be recharged (see page 22 in the camera’sinstruction manual) while the camera is in the card reader mode.i Recharging the battery pack when the camera is turned off or in the powersave mode (see page 28 in the camera’s instruction manual) takes longerthan when the camera is in the card reader mode.i Connect the dedicated USB interface cable to the USB connector on yourcomputer. Do not connect it to the USB connector on the monitor or thekeyboard, or to the USB hub.i When the surrounding temperature is high, depending on the camera’soperating condition and the battery pack temperature, in some cases themulti-indicator may slowly flash red and the battery pack cannot becharged.i If the camera is not going to be used for an extended period of time, pleasedisconnect the dedicated USB interface cable from the camera.HINTTo recharge more quickly...i Recharging the battery pack while connected to the USB terminal takeslonger than when the battery pack charger is used.i To recharge the battery pack more quickly, it is recommended that thebattery pack charger be used.
