Controlling Roaming Charges Using Call GuardIn addition to the roaming icon, Call Guard alerts you whenroaming charges apply. This feature makes it easy to manageyour roaming charges by reminding you when you make orreceive roaming calls. It also requires you to take an additionalstep before placing or answering a roaming call. This additionalstep is not required when you make or receive calls while on theenhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.To Turn Call Guard On or Off:1. Press to access the main menu.2. Highlight Settings and press .3. Highlight Roaming and press .4. Highlight Call Guard and press .5. Select On or Off and press .To Place Roaming Calls With Call Guard On:1. From standby mode, dial 1 + area code + the seven-digitnumber. (You can also initiate a call from the Internal PhoneBook, Call History, or Messaging.)2. Press or press , highlight Call and press .3. A pop-up message will appear notifying you that roaming rateapplies. Press to proceed.– or –1. Press any key to erase the pop-up message, then press ,highlight Roam Call and press .To Answer Incoming Roaming Calls With Call Guard On:1. Press .2. Byusing the Roaming menu option, you can determine whichsignals your phone accepts.Set ModeChoose from three different settings on your dual band/tri modephone to control your roaming experience:1. Press to access the main menu.2. Highlight Settings and press .3. Highlight Roaming and press .4. Highlight Set Mode and press .5. To select an option, select it and press . Sprint: This setting allows you to access the enhanced SprintNationwide PCS Network only and prevents roaming on othernetworks. Automatic: This setting seeks PCS Service. When PCS Service isunavailable, the phone searches for an alternate system. Analog: This setting forces the phone to seek an analogroaming system.
