12_ safety instructionsLocate the range out of kitchen traffic paths and drafty locations to preventpoor air circulation.This appliance should be positioned in such a way that the power plug isaccessible.Do not install in an area exposed to dripping water or outside weatherconditions.Remove all packaging materials from the range before operating it. Thesematerials can ignite, causing smoke and/or fire damage.Install this appliance on a level and hard floor that can support its weight.Synthetic flooring, like linoleum, must withstand 180 °F (82 °C) temperatureswithout shrinking, warping, or discoloring. Never install the range directlyover interior kitchen carpeting unless a sheet of 0.25-inch plywood or similarinsulator is placed between the range and carpeting.Never block the vents (air openings) of the range. They provide the air inlet andexhaust necessary for the range to operate properly with correct combustion.Air openings are located behind the range, under the oven control panel, atthe top and bottom of the oven door, and under the lower warming or storagedrawer.Large scratches or impacts on door glass can cause the glass to break orshatter.Make sure the wall coverings around the range can withstand heat, up to 200 °F(93 °C), generated by the range.Avoid placing cabinets above the range. This reduces the hazard caused byreaching over the open flames of operating burners.If cabinets are placed above the range, allow a minimum clearance of 40in (102 cm) between the cooking surface and the bottom of unprotectedcabinets.Install a ventilation hood or an externally vented Over The Range MicrowaveOven over the range cooktop that is as wide as the range, centered over therange, and projects forward beyond the front of the cabinets. See page 21 inthis manual.Remove all tape and packaging.
