Before configuring a user password, asupervisor password must have beenconfigured. Deactivating the supervisorpassword also deactivates the userpassword.In the Set User Password item, press<Enter> and complete the procedures fromStep 3 of Setting a Supervisor Password.Setting up a Hard Disk DrivePassword (Optional)If you set a password for a hard disk drive, itcannot be accessed from another computer.Press Enter in the Set HDD Password itemand define a password as described in Step3 of the Setting up the Supervisor Password.The hard disk drive passwordsetting function is not provided forsome models.Changing the hard disk drivepasswordFor security purposes, you canonly change a hard disk drivepassword after restarting thecomputer by pressing the computerPower button.If you cannot change the harddisk drive password or the HDDPassword Frozen messageappears when entering the BIOSSetup and then selecting Security> HDD Password, press the Powerbutton to turn the computer onagain.Setting Up a Boot PasswordTo setup a boot password, the administratorpassword (Set Supervisor Password) shouldbe set in advance.Set the Password on boot item to Enabled.Once a boot password is set, you have toenter a password to boot up the computer.Deactivating the Password1 Press <Enter> on the password to bedeactivated. For example, to deactivatea supervisor password in the SetSupervisor Password item, press<Enter>.2 In the Enter Current Password item,enter the currently configured passwordand press <Enter>.3 Leave the Enter New Password itemfield empty, and press <Enter>.4 Leave the Confirm New Password fieldempty, and press <Enter>.5 In the [Setup Notice] window, press<Enter>.The password is deactivated.
