Even after being washed, these items may contain significant amountsof these oils.• Residual oil on clothing can ignite spontaneoulsy. The potential for spontaneouscombustion increases when items containing vegetable oil or cooking oil are exposedto heat. Heat sources such as your dryer can warm these items, allowing an oxidationreaction in the oil to occur. Oxidation creates heat. If this heat cannot escape, the itemscan become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking, or storing these kinds of itemsmay prevent heat from escaping and can create a fire hazard.• All washed and unwashed fabrics that contain vegetable oil or cooking oil can bedangerous.Washing these items in hot water with extra detergent will reduce, but not eliminate, the hazard. Always use the Cool Down cycle for these items to reduce theirtemperature. Never remove these items from the dryer hot or interrupt the dryingcycle until the items have run through the Cool Down cycle. Never pile or stack theseitems when they are hot.DV7450M_DC68-03170Z-06_EN.indd 9 2019-06-03 5:54:01
