More frequent cleaning maybe required due to excessive lint from carpet-ing, bedding material, etc. It is imperative thatcontrol compartments, burners and circulatingair passageways of the appliance be kept cleanand free from excessive lint from carpeting.4) See general construction and assembly instruc-tions. This appliance may only be installed in aflued, non-combustible fireplace.The applianceand fl ue should be enclosed when installed orpassing through a living area, where childrenmay come in contact with it.5) Always connect this space heater to a chimneyand fl ue to the outside of the building envelope.Never fl ue to another room. Make sure that thefl ue is properly sized and is of adequate heightto provide the proper draft.6) Inspect the flueing system annually for blockageand any signs of deterioration.7) Any safety glass removed for servicing mustbe replaced prior to operating the appliance.8) To prevent injury, do not allow anyone who isunfamiliar with the operation to use the fireplace.9) Assemble and install the faceplate and trim.10) Install the glass front.11) Install bottom louvres and fl ush front.12) Install Optional Remote Control.13) Final check: Before leaving this unit with thecustomer, the installer must ensure that theappliance is firing correctly. This includes:a) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correctfiring rate.b) Adjusting the primary air, if required, to en-sure that the flame does not carbon. Seepage 7.c) Ensuring that the appliance is flueing cor-rectly. See page 7.INSTALLATIONCHECKLISTThe Regency Gas Insert is installed as listed below.1) Unit Location - check Clearances to Combus-tibles.2) Make the gas connections.3) Install the flue or liner to the sliding draft diverter.4) Install Flueing. Slide the unit into the fi replace.Attach draft diverter to the insert.5) Test gas pressure.
