2Reed ManufacturingCPDWW Power DriveOPERATING INSTRUCTIONSThe cordless power drive can be set-up for valve operating ordrilling/tapping, depending on the adapter used.ADAPTER INSTALLATION/REMOVALPower drive adapters such as TMPDA and VOKUCLUTCH snapinto the power drive. Push adapter squarely into power driveopening until the spring-loaded pawls catch securely. To removethe adapter, push adapter out of the power drive. A large amountof force may be required to actuate the spring-loaded pawls torelease the adapter.NOTE: Adapters can only be installed/removed in only onedirection.SWITCH OPERATIONThe power switch is a red switch located on the top of the handle.It has 3 positions: OFF, ON and Locked. The OFF position istoward the battery and the ON position is away from the battery.If pressure is removed from the switch, it will return to the OFFposition. When the switch is in the ON position, the switch canbe rolled farther by pressing the side of the switch away from thebattery and locking the switch in the ON position. Press the sideof the switch toward the battery to release the lock.GEAR SELECTOR OPERATIONThe cordless power drive has a forward and a reverse gear. Thegear selector is below the carrying handle. Pushing the gear se-lector toward the power switch will put the power drive in reverseand away from the switch for forward. When the power drive isoff, the gear selector may not be able to move all the way into thedesired position; do not force the selector. If the selector will notmove fully into the desired position, the power drive can be turnedon and off quickly to allow the selector to be positioned properly.NOTE: The gear selector may be moved while the power drive ison but unloaded. Changing gears while the power drive is underload may damage the gearbox.TOOL USE AND CARE1. Do not force the tool. Use the correct tool for your application.The correct tool will do the job better and safer at the rate forwhich it is designed.2. Do not use the tool if switch does not turn it ON or OFF. Anytool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous andmust be repaired.3. Disconnect the battery from the tool before making anyadjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool. Suchpreventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the toolaccidentally.4. Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrainedpersons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrainedusers.5. Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.Properly maintained tools with sharp cutting edges are lesslikely to bind and are easier to control.6. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakageof parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’soperation. If damaged, have the tool serviced before using.Accidents can be caused by poorly maintained tools.7. Use only accessories that are recommended by themanufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitablefor one tool may become hazardous when used onanother tool.SERVICE1. Tool service must be performed only by qualified repairpersonnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualifiedpersonnel could result in a risk of injury.SPECIFIC SAFETY RULESThe Operator’s Manual contains specific safety information andinstructions for your protection against serious injuries including:• Loss of fingers, hands, arms or other body parts if clothing orgloves get caught in moving parts.• Electrical shock or burns from contact with wires, motor orother power drive parts.• Impact injuries, including broken bones if machine tips over orworkpiece falls.• Eye injuries, including being blinded by the workpiece or workpiece chips.• Read and follow the safety labels on the machine.Know the location and functions of all controls before usingthe tool.1020-55259Both the TMPDA and VOKUCLUTCH install in the same orientation.Note the orientation of theadapter to the CPDWW.For removal, push down withforce on the adapter.SwitchBattery Attachment SpotGear SelectorCarrying Handle |
