86 Chapter 6 Working with Test SequencesOverviewWhen testing video displays, you typically select a format using the Format knob, and thenselect an image using the Image knob. In a production environment, where there might bea need to test several combinations of formats and images, you can create a testsequence to automate the process of selecting formats and images. Test sequencesprovide a way to progress through a pre-defined sequence of format and images, eithermanually or automatically. You can create test sequences using the command line interface, the internal sequenceeditor or the Video Generator Manager (VGM) application. This section describes how tocreate and run test sequences using the command line interface and internal sequenceeditor. Please refer to the VGM online help for instructions on defining and running a testsequence from VGM.The following functions are provided:• Create your own custom test sequences consisting of multiple steps. Each stepspecifies the format and image to display as well as the duration of the step. You cancreate multiple sequence files, which are stored in non-volatile memory.• Program the 802R/BT generator to run in test-sequence mode on power-up. This modeof operation is useful in a manufacturing test environment where the same testprocedure must be repeated on many identical displays. Multiple test sequences canbe stored in the generator and selected by the operator.
