6–Configuring RoCESupported Operating Systems and OFED49 BC0154503-00 CSupported Operating Systems and OFEDTable 6-1 shows the operating system support for RoCE v1/v2 and OFED:PlanningAs you prepare to implement RoCE, consider the following limitations: If you are using the in-box OFED, the operating system should be the sameon the server and client systems. Some of the applications may workbetween different operating systems, but there is no guarantee. This is anOFED limitation. For OFED applications (most often perftest applications), server and clientapplications should use the same options and values. For example, problems can arise if the operating system and the perftest application havedifferent OFED versions. To confirm the perftest OFED version, type thefollowing command:# ib_send_bw --version qedr and libqedr RPM packages are required for in-box OFED. OFED/RDMA applications that depend on libibverbs also require the QLogicRDMA user space library, libqedr. libqedr can be installed using libqedr RPMor source packages Mounting NFS over RDMA may take more time than normal on RHEL 7.0,7.1, and SLES 12. RoCE supports only little endian. RoCE will not work over a VF in an SR-IOV environment. RoCE is enabled by default for both V1 and V2.Table 6-1.
