11760287-001A• QMS® 2560 Print System •Duplex Unit Installation1This document replaces the duplex unit installation instructions in the QMS 2560 Print System Options manual (P/N 1800533-001A) and the QMS 2560 PrintSystem Installation Guide—Options (P/N 1760249-001A). These instructions have been revised to be more complete.Remove all pieces from thecarton.Remove all of theprotective shipping foam,plastic coverings, and tapefrom the pieces.Turn off and unplug theprinter, and then disconnectall interface cables.» Caution: It is veryimportant to turn off theprinter before continuingwith this installation.On the right side of theprinter, remove the cover inthe upper-right corner.Remove the two screwsfrom the middle cover, butleave the cover attached.Remove the two screwsfrom the lower cover, andthen remove the cover.Remove the cover of thesocket compartment on theright corner of the printer.With three screws, attachthe duplex guide unit to theprinter.Plug the duplex guide unitcable into the lower-leftconnector inside the socketcompartment.Set the duplex unit onto theduplex guide unit.With your hand against theduplex unit to hold it intoplace, tighten both of therecessed screws of theduplex unit so that it issecured to the printer.Insert the duplex unitcables into the remainingtwo connectors inside thesocket compartment.Using the screw youremoved earlier, reattachthe cover of the socketcompartment to the printer.» Note: Make sure that theconnector cords arecompletely enclosedinside of the socketcompartment beforetightening the covercompletely.Remove the small coverlocated on top of theprinter.Pull back the green tensiondevice in the direction ofthe arrow.» Note: The tension wiresupports the weight of theduplex unit when it’sopen. Be sure to returnthe wire to its originalposition if you remove theduplex unit from theprinter.Reconnect the interfacecables.Plug the printer back in,and turn it on.Print a startup page andmake sure that “Duplex” isidentified as an installedoption.On the Options tab of theQMS printer driver select“Duplex Unit Installed.”QMS and the QMS logo are registered trademarks of QMS, Inc.
