After you have finished, put this manual away in asafe place for future reference.e The rated impedance of these speakers is 8 (2. They must be connected to anamplifier which accepts this type of load (miminum and maximum impedancesaccepted by the amplifier are generally indicated near the speakers outlets: forexample "4-16 Q" or "6-16 Q").e To guard against damage to these speakers due to an electric power overload, take the following precautions:© Do not supply more than the maximum permitted power to the speakers(see Specifications).w Any connection or switching on or off of part of the audio system (CDplayer, tuner etc.) must be carried out after switching off the amplifier or atleast with the loudspeaker outlets disconnected (if the amplifier allows).Interference caused by these operations will otherwise reach the speakersand may damage the treble loudspeaker units.£> When boosting particular frequencies using a graphic equaliser or bassand treble correctors, make sure that you do not increase the amplifiervolume excessively, as the speakers will be overloaded more quickly.© Do not force a low-power amplifier to produce a high level of sound asharmonic distortion increases rapidly in this situation and may pose adanger to the treble speaker units.e Avoid touching the diaphragms and suspensions of speakers units as they arefragile. The speaker units in these speakers are magnetically shielded. However, colours may blur if the speakers are positioned too close to atelevision screen. If this happens, switch off the television and switch itback on again after 15 to 30 minutes. If the problem persists, move thespeakers away from the television set.INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONe For optimum sound reproduction of high frequencies, the treble speaker unitsmust be at the same height as the listener's ears.e For low frequencies, it is possible to increase the level of bass sounds bypositioning the speakers close to a wall (the maximum increase being obtainedfor a position in a corner of the listening room). |e Do not install the speakers close to an oven or heating appliance. Avoidexposing them to direct sunlight. High temperatures can distort the structure ofthe enclosure and adversely affect the sound.e These speakers are heavy and fragile, and it is therefore dangerous to installthem in an unstable position. For added safety, it is advisable to attach thesespeakers to a wall or pillar using chains and hooks (not supplied). To do so,screw the provided metal ring to the back of the speaker cabinet and then pass achain or cable through the metal ring. |e Do not hang these speakers on the wall.CONNECTIONSe Switch off the amplifier power supply (OFF).e Connect the cables to the input terminals on the rear of the speaker: Connectthe neutral cable to the © terminal and the live cable to the © terminal. Do notforget that the red input terminal has positive polarity and that the black inputterminal has negative polarity.e Connect the cables to the loudspeaker outlet terminals of the amplifier. Connectthe live cable to the © terminal and the neutral cable to the © terminal.REMARKS :eCheck that the cables are securely connected to the terminals. A looseconnection may cause not just intermittent or distorted sound but short-circuitingand breakdown of the amplifier.e If the cables of one of the speakers have been connected with the wrongpolarities, you will find when listening to a stereo recording that bass sounds areweakened and the stereo effect normally obtained between the two speakersdoes not exist.O) Strip the insulation at the tip of the cordand twist the strands.(2) Turn the thumbscrew anti-clockwise,make sure that the speaker cord isinserted well into the hole and turn thethumbscrew clokwise to fasten intoposition.Connect the hot-side speaker cord to theHFO or LFO terminal.(4) Connect the common-side speaker cordto the HFO of LF © terminalMAINTENANCE OF THE ENCLOSUREe Use a cloth to wipe away dust and dirt.e If the enclosure is very dirty, wipe with a soft cloth dipped in a neutral detergentdiluted five to six times with water, then wipe again with the dry cloth. Do not usethinner, benzene, cleaning sprays or other chemical products on or near theenclosures as the surfaces could be adversely affected.SPECIFICATIONSEntlösüre sinenn Floor-standing type, bass-reflexSOVSTONE ee AS CEGA 2 ways, 3 speaker unitsSpeaker units : Woofers enneneneeneenen Cone type, 14cm x2Tweeter essen Dome type, 2.5 cmNominal Impedance .….…............................................................. 80Frequency range u.a 40 - 20000 HzSensitivity … … … … … Rini 87 dB/W at 1m distanceMaximum power nn ss 130WDimensions : ..................................... 195 x 1032 x 289 mm (W x Hx D)Weight. nen ee eine 13.4kgAccessory partsCADIOS una een lele 1mstrüchon Manual sneren nenten daneen dati 1NR E 1INGE SCIEWE i elitario 1REMARK : The specifications and design of this product are subject to changewithout notice, in the interests of improvements.Discover the benefits of registering your product online atwww.pioneer.co.uk (or www.pioneer-eur.com)www.pioneer.co.ukwww.pioneer-eur.comPublished by Pioneer Corporation.© 2005 Pioneer Corporation. All reproduction and translation rights reserved. |
