Useof an improper fuse could result in over-heating and smoke and could cause dam-age to the product and injury includingburns.CAUTIONDo NOT install or use your Pioneer ampli-fier by wiring speakers rated at 4 Ω (orlower) in parallel to achieve a 2 Ω (orlower) bridged mode (Diagram B).Amplifier damage, smoke, and overheatingcould result from improper bridging. Theamplifier surface could also become hot tothe touch and minor burns could result.To properly install or use a bridged modefor a two-channel amplifier and achieve a 4Ω load, wire two 8 Ω speakers in parallelwith Left + and Right – (Diagram A) oruse a single 4 Ω speaker. For a four-chan-nel amplifier, follow the speaker outputconnection diagram for bridging as shownon the back of your amplifier, and wiretwo 8 Ω speakers in parallel to achieve a 4Ω load or use a single 4 Ω speaker perchannel.If you have any questions or concerns,please contact your local authorizedPioneer dealer or call Pioneer customerservice.WARNING• Handling the cord on this product or cords associ-ated with accessories sold with the product willexpose you to lead, a chemical known to the Stateof California and other governmental entities tocause cancer and birth defects or other reproduc-tive harm. Wash hands after handling.• Always use the special red battery and groundwire [RD-223], which is sold separately. Connectthe battery wire directly to the car battery positiveterminal (+) and the ground wire to the car body.• Do not touch the amplifier with wet hands.Otherwise you may get an electric shock. Also, donot touch the amplifier when it is wet.• For traffic safety and to maintain safe drivingconditions, keep the volume low enough so thatyou can still hear normal traffic sound.• Check the connections of the power supply andspeakers if the fuse of the separately sold batterywire or the amplifier fuse blows. Detect the causeand solve the problem, then replace the fuse withanother one of the same size and rating.• To prevent malfunction of the amplifier andspeakers, the protective circuit will cut the powersupply to the amplifier (sound will stop) when anabnormal condition occurs. In such a case, switchthe power to the system OFF and check theconnection of the power supply and speakers.Detect the cause and solve the problem.• Contact the dealer if you cannot detect the cause.• To prevent an electric shock or short-circuitduring connection and installation, be sure todisconnect the negative (–) terminal of the batterybeforehand.• Confirm that no parts are behind the panel whendrilling a hole for installation of the amplifier. Besure to protect all cables and important equipmentsuch as fuel lines, brake lines and the electricalwiring from damage.• DO NOT allow amplifier to come into contactwith liquids due to, for example, the locationwhere the amplifier is installed. Electrical shockcould result. Also, amplifier and speaker damage,smoke, and overheating could result from contactwith liquids.
