16Chapter 1Basic OperationBasic NavigationThe most frequently used function is the AddressSearch, in which the address is specified and thedestination searched. This section describes howto use the Address Search and the basics ofusing the Navigation System.CautionFor safety reasons, you cannot use thesefunctions while your car is in motion. Stopand put the parking brake on before use.Basic flow of operation1 If the map is not displayed, press the dis-play’s NAVI MENU button to display themain menu.2 Touch “Search Area”.If the destination is in another country/area,this changes the country/area setting.3 Touch the area code of the destinationand touch “OK”.Modifies the country/area setting and returnsyou to the Destination menu.4 Touch “Address Search”.Selects the method for searching the destina-tion.➲ Return Home Page 28➲ Go to Page 28➲ POI Search Page 25➲ Vicinity Search Page 26➲ Address Book Page 28➲ Destination History Page 28➲ Freeway Search Page 27➲ Telephone Search Page 275 Input the house number.Touch the characters you wish to input.“Zone Number” :Specifies the area you wish to search (steps 2 and 3).:The input text is deleted letter by letter fromthe end of the text. Continuing to pressdeletes all of the text.“Back” :Returns you to previous screen.❒ Also input a prefix to the house number.1 Press the NAVI MENU button to dis-play the Main menu.2 Select “Destination” from the Mainmenu.3 Select the method of searching foryour destination.4 Enter the information about your des-tination.5 Your Navigation System sets the routeto your destination, and the map ofyour surroundings appears.6 Driving in accordance with the naviga-tion information.
