10 GBQ Replacing thesharpening stoneRISK OF INJURY! Before youcarry out any work on the device, always pull themains plug out of the mains socket. Replace thesharpening stone if it is worn out or damaged(deteriorating, irregular sharpening performance,broken stone). A Phillips screwdriver is required forthis step.Screw the four screws 3 out of the sharpeninghead cover 2 and remove the cover 2 , referto Fig. A.Take out the sharpening stone 5 .Clamp the sharpening stone 5 in a vice. Re-lease the threaded connection 7 , which holdsthe sharpening stone 5 on to the sharpeningstone holder 9 , using a 20 mm open spanner,see Fig. B.NOTE! LEFT-HAND THREAD - TO RELEASETURN IT CLOCKWISE!Remove the metal washer 8 .Mount the new sharpening stone, with its flat-tened edge facing downwards, on to thesharpening holder 9 and reinsert the metalwasher 8 .Clamp the sharpening stone 5 again in a viceand tighten the threaded connection 7 usinga 20 mm open spanner.NOTE! LEFT-HAND THREAD - TO TIGHTENTURN IT ANTICLOCKWISE!Ensure that the spring 6 is inserted into thedevice in accordance with Fig. D and insert thesharpening stone back into the device. Turn thesharpening stone until it goes precisely backinto place, as shown in Fig. A, otherwise thesharpening stone cover 2 cannot be fitted.Place the sharpening stone cover 2 back inposition and screw it in place with the fourscrews 3 .Q Maintenance and cleaningApart from replacing the sharpening stone, the drillsharpener is maintenance-free.Regularly clean the device straight after using it.To clean the casing, use a dry cloth; on noaccount should you use any petrol, solvents orcleaning agents.Never open the devices.
