User Manual Update 01/14First of all… please read the Altitron manual! You will find very usefulinformation, and if you have any further question do not hesitate to contact us.Misuse might create damage that are not covered by the warranty!“Freeze” mode in units “out of the box”IMPORTANT! The Altitron is delivered from the factory in “freeze” mode: battery is installed but in order tosave energy while it’s on the shelf, THE UNIT IS NOT OPERATING! Do not jump your Altitron before wakingit up by pressing a button. If you have just received your Altitron, just press any key to activate it andconfigure your preferred settings.Type selection when replacing the batteryAlkaline batteryLithium batteryBecause of different battery sources now commonlyavailable, the Altitron needs you to specify which kind ofbattery has been installed. This is due because differenttechnologies have different working voltage, so you needto specify what’s inside to have accurate informationabout the battery lifetime. When you put a battery youneed to choose among Alkaline, Lithium, andRechargeable. The Altitron will suggest you what it“thinks” is being used, but you need to confirm this.Choose the type of battery you are using changing thevalues by pushing UP or DOWN, and confirm by pressingSELECT. When a battery is new you should generallyconfirm just what has been suggested.You need to confirm the battery type because you mightdecide to remove the battery for example in wintertime orduring a long commercial flight, and reinstall the samebattery after that. In this case the battery voltage mightnot be the same as new, so the type detection could bewrong.Rechargeable batteryA wrong type setting might lead to wrong battery lifetime information. If you make a mistake in selecting thetype of battery in use, you will need to remove it and put it back, selecting again the correct type.Clock view in stand-by modeWhen the Altitron is in standby mode in betweenjumps, it’s easier to use it as a watch now with largertime digits!Unit informationYou can now check the battery voltage aftersoftware version and serial number (see “Unitinformation” on the manual).Air intakeLooking at the Altitron case you will find a small hole on one side: it’s the air intake for the air pressuresensor. Even if being shielded from humidity and dust, do not introduce anything in it.
