15Precautions for installationPower supplyThis product has no power switch.When turning off the power, turn off a powersupply or remove a power cable. When thepower cable of the product is connected to thepower supply device, the power will be sup-plied to the product.Before cleaning the product, make sure thatthe power cable is not connected to the mainpower supply.Installation area for this productSelect an appropriate place for the installationarea (such as a strong wall or ceiling) in yourparticular environment.• Make sure that the installation area isstrong enough to hold this product, suchas a concrete ceiling.• Install the camera in the foundation area ofthe architecture or where sufficient strengthis assured.• Do not mount the product on a plasterboard or a wooden section because theyare too weak. If the product is unavoidablymounted on such a section, the sectionshall be sufficiently reinforced.SF V311 SF V310This product is designed to be installedunder eaves.• Install the product in areas that do notreceive direct sunlight.• When the product is installed outside inareas that receive direct sunlight, such ason external walls, use the optional "SunShade WV-Q7118".SF R311 SF R310 SF N311 SF N310This camera is designed to be usedindoors.This product is not operable outdoors.Do not expose this camera to direct sunlightfor hours and do not install the product near aheater or an air conditioner. Otherwise, it maycause deformation, discoloration and malfunc-tion. Keep this camera away from water andmoisture.Do not place this product in the followingplaces:• Locations where a chemical agent is usedsuch as a swimming pool• Locations subject to moisture or oil smokesuch as a kitchen• Locations that have a specific environmentthat is subject to an inflammable atmo-sphere or solvents• Locations where a radiation, an X-ray, astrong radio wave or a strong magneticfield is generated• Locations where corrosive gas is pro-duced, locations where it may be dam-aged by briny air such as seashores• Locations where the temperature is notwithin the specified range (☞ page 21)• Locations subject to vibrations, such as onvehicles, marine vessels, or above productlines (This product is not designed for on-vehicle use.)Panasonic assumes no responsibility for injuries or property damage resulting fromfailures arising out of improper installation or operation inconsistent with thisdocumentation.For information about the installation tasks, refer to the provided Installation Guide.
