25OperationsPreparations● VIERA Link connection (p. 24)● Set up the connected equipment. Read the manual ofthe equipment.● Set [VIERA Link] to [On] in the Setup Menu. (p. 18)● Set up the TV.After connection, turn the equipment on and thenswitch the TV on.Select the input mode from HDMI1 or HDMI2 (p. 12),and make sure that an image is displayed correctly.This setup should be done each time when thefollowing conditions occur:• for the first time• when adding or reconnecting equipment• when changing setupEasy playbackAutomatic input switching - When the connectedequipment is operated, input mode is switchedautomatically.● Image or sound may not be available for the first fewseconds when input mode is switched.Power on LinkSet [Power on Link] to [On] in the Setup Menu to usethis function (p. 18)When the connected equipment starts playback ordirect navigator / function menu for the equipment areactivated, the TV is automatically turned on. (Only whenthe TV is in Standby mode.)Power off LinkSet [Power off Link] to [On] in the Setup Menu to usethis function (p. 18)When the TV is set to Standby mode, the connectedequipment is also automatically set to Standby.● This function will work even if the TV enters Standbymode automatically by auto power standby function.Standby Power SaveSet [Standby Power Save] to [On] in the Setup Menuto use this function (p. 18)The power consumption of the connected equipmentin Standby mode is controlled higher or lower insynchronisation with the TV on / off state to reduce theconsumption.When the TV is set to Standby mode, the connectedequipment is automatically set to Standby and the powerconsumption of the connected equipment is automaticallyminimised.When the TV is turned on, the connected equipmentis still in Standby mode, but the power consumption isincreased to make startup time fast.● This function is effective if the connected equipmentcan change the power consumption in Standby modeand is set to higher consumption.● This function works when [Power off Link] is set to [On].Intelligent Auto StandbySet [Intelligent Auto Standby] to [On] in the SetupMenu to use this function (p. 18)When the TV is on, non-watched or non-used connectedequipment goes into Standby mode automatically toreduce the power consumption. For example, when theinput mode is switched from HDMI or when [SpeakerSelection] is changed to [TV] (except for watching a disc).● This function may not work properly depending on theconnected equipment.
