You can operate this function only with the remote control.Press [PLAY MODE] when the player is stopped or playing.Every time the button is pressed the mode changes and an indicator is shown onthe display in the following order.1 track repeat (1-`)vAll track repeat (`)vRandom (RANDOM)vNormal (no indicator is shown)≥If you have selected the mode when the player was stopped, press [1/∫].Playback (Basic play)1. Release the HOLD function.2. Connect the remote control and earphones, then insert the re-mote control's plug into the headphone jack (Ë) on the player.3. 1 Slide [2OPEN] to unlock the lid.2 Fully open the lid.3 Insert the MD between the guides so it clicks into place.4 Close the lid.After you insert the MD, the player turns on, reads the information from it, after afew seconds, the unit turns off. The title of the disc or song is shown.The title scrollsif it can not be displayed all at once.4. Press [1/∫] to start play.The player stops when all the tracks on the disc have been played.5. Adjust the volume.i: To increase the volume, j: To decrease the volumeVolume level is 0–25.∫To stop the discPress [1/∫].The unit powers itself off in about 10 seconds.∫Monaural playbackIf a disc was recorded monaurally, the unit switches to monaural mode.∫Resume functionThe player stores the point at where you stop play and when you press [1/∫]again, play begins from that point. This does not work if you open the lid or re-move the battery. (Play starts from the first track.)If the display on the remote control disappears or seems unusual, disconnect theremote control from the unit then plug it in again firmly.∫What the displays meanBLANK : Nothing is recorded on the disc currently loaded.HOLD : On hold.NoDISC : There is no disc in the unit.T-READ : Reading TOC.ERROR : A problem has occurred while the unit was reading TOC, or duringplay.U01: The battery is flat.NO BAT: The unit is in the battery charger stand without a battery.LP: You are trying to play a track recorded with MDLP mode. (This unitcannot play such tracks.)Refer to the illustration on page 6, 7 of the other manual.NoteThis function allows you to fast-forward or rewind through tracks.Hold down during play.Forward : 9 Backward : :SearchTrack selectThis function allows you to begin listening from a selected track.1. Select a track by pressing while stopped.Forward : 9 Backward : :2. Press [1/∫].Repeat and random playSound qualityOther functionsThis function skips tracks and play begins from the beginning of the selectedtrack.Press during play.Forward : 9 Backward : :SkipRefer to the illustration on page 8, 9 of the other manual.About the remote controlThe display lights for about 5 seconds when an operation is done on the unit orremote control. It remains lit for up to 20 seconds while a track or disc name isscrolling on the display.∫Checking the displayPress [$LIGHT, %DISP].The display lights for 5 seconds.∫Adjusting the display's contrastWhen the unit is powered on1. Put the main unit in hold. (See page 2 of the other manual.)2. Press and hold [1/∫] on the main unit and press [i] or [j] on the remotecontrol to adjust the contrast.i : darker, j : lighter∫Changing the remote control's displayPress and hold [$LIGHT, %DISP].Each time you press and hold the button:The display changes to show the track title, the disc title, the playing time ofall tracks, total number of tracks, the track number and elapsed playing time.∫The operation toneA tone sounds when you press a button on the remote control.To turn the tone off, press and hold [1/∫] until “Beep OFF” appears.Press andhold again to turn the tone on.Refer to the illustration on page 4, 5 of the other manual.This function prevents the player and remote control from responding when abutton is pressed.∫Guards against the following≥The unit is powered on accidentally, causing the batteries to run down.≥A button is accidentally pressed, interrupting play.∫The “HOLD” displayThis is displayed for about 2 seconds when the following occurs.≥The main unit is on hold and a button is pressed. (If the main unit is off, displayappears only if [1/∫] is pressed.)≥The remote control's switch is moved to hold.The HOLD switch on the unit and remote control works indepen-dently.The HOLD functionRefer to the illustration on page 2 of the other manual.≥Be sure to read the operating instructions of the items.≥To ensure correct operation, be sure to use the recommended accessories.∫SpeakersDisconnect the earphones from the remote control and connect the speakers.RP-SP30 / RP-SP28 (internal amplifier)Adjust the volume on the unit to an appropriate level.∫Listening and recording through other equipmentDisconnect the earphones from the remote control and connect the stereo equip-ment with one of the following line cords.If the amplifier's connection is ;a line connection : RP-CAPM3G15a mini–phone jack : RP-CAM3G15(Either turn the remote control's tone off or perform the operations on the mainunit.)∫Using this unit with MD Network equipment≥By connecting this unit to stereo equipment with MD Network capability, youcan operate this unit through the other equipment to make recordings betweenMDs and to enter titles.≥By connecting this unit to a Visual/Title printer, you can print titles based on thetitles contained on your MDs.∫Connection to a car stereoFor connection to the car audio system;Car stereo cassette adaptor : SH-CDM10AFor connecting the power supply;Car power adaptor : RP-AK15≥Connect the car stereo cassette adaptor to the earphone jack on the remotecontrol.≥Connect the remote control's plug into the headphone jack on the player.≥Attach the DC IN plug adaptor (not included : RP-WA10) to the main unit thenconnect the car power adaptor to the DC IN jack and cigarette lighter’s socket.≥Release the XBS-1,XBS-2, TRAIN setting.≥Set the volume on this unit to between 20 and 23.(It may not be possible to use the car stereo cassette adaptor with some systemsbecause of its construction.)∫Replacement joint phonesEarphones : RP-HJ535Headphones : RP-HT870Optional accessoriesRefer to the illustration on page 12, 13 of the other manual.You can operate this function only with remote control.Press [EQ] when the player is stopped or playing.Every time the button is pressed the mode changes and an indicator is shown onthe display in the following order.XBS-1Increases the power ofthe bass sounds.vXBS-2Increases the XBS-1 effect.vTRAINReduces sounds that may annoyothers when you are using the playerin a public place.vNORMAL (cancel) |
