SQT081833 ENGLISHThe rechargeable battery (installed in the unit) is not charged initially. Chargethe battery before using the unit.1 Connect this unit to a computerusing the USB charging cord• Within approximately 3 seconds afterthe connection is established, the LEDon the right speaker will light in red.• The LED lights in red when chargingis in progress. When charging iscompleted, the LED will go out.• Charging will take approximately3.5 hours from empty state to fullycharged.RightComputer LEDUSB charging cord (supplied)■ Note• The Bluetooth® feature cannot be used when this unit is connected to a computerusing the USB charging cord.• Charge in a room temperature between 10 °C and 35 °C. Outside of this rangeof temperatures, charging may stop.• The power cannot be turned on while charging.• Do not use any other USB charging cords except the supplied one.Caution: Use only the supplied USB charging cord when connecting to acomputer.Charging To establish a wireless connection, register the unit with Bluetooth® compatibledevices.Preparation on the Bluetooth® device• Turn on the power, and enable the Bluetooth® feature.• Place the device within 1 m from the unit.• Check the device operation in its operation instructions, as required.Power on for the first time1 Turn on the unit• The unit will start searching forthe Bluetooth® device to connectto, and the LED on the rightspeaker will blink in blue and redalternately. (Only one operationafter purchase)2 When the unit (“RP-BTD5”)is detected by the Bluetooth®device, select it• If prompted for a passkey, input“0000 (four zeros)”.• If the Bluetooth® profile selectionscreen appears, select the“A2DP” profile. If “A2DP” is notsupported or if you want to justuse phone calls, select the “HSP”or “HFP” profile. (For details onprofiles, see “Listening to music”(→ P. 4) and “Making a phonecall” (→ P. 5))3 Check the connection withthe Bluetooth® device on theunit• First the LED on the rightspeaker lights in blue andrepeats on and off. When theconnection is established,blinking pattern will change.Connection after the secondtime® device>When the unit is turned on, it willsearch for the previously setupBluetooth® device and automaticallystart connecting to it. First the LEDon the right speaker lights in blueand repeats on and off. When theconnection is established, blinkingpattern will change.®device>Disable the Bluetooth® feature onthe previously connected device.Check that the unit is turned off. Pressand hold the pairing button forapproximately 5 seconds. A beep willsound. The unit will start searching forother Bluetooth® device. The LED onthe right speaker will blink in blue andred alternately.Continue steps 2 and 3.Connecting a Bluetooth® device■ Note• If connection to a device is notestablished within approximately5 minutes, the unit will be turned off.Start from step 1 again.• 2 or more Bluetooth® devices cannotbe connected to the unit at the sametime.• You can pair up to 8 devices withthis unit. If a 9th device is paired, thedevice with the oldest connection willbe replaced. To use it, pair it again.1 Press and hold the power button forapproximately 3 seconds• A beep will sound and the LED on the right speakerwill blink.Power buttonLEDTo turn the power off• Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds. A beep willsound and the power will be turned off.■ Note• When the unit is not operated for approximately 5 minutes, the power willautomatically turn off.
