LC2H112Cautions for use1. Input and output connection1) Input connection(1) Contact inputUse highly reliable metal plated contacts.Since the contact’s bounce time leadsdirectly to error in the count value, usecontacts with as short a bounce time aspossible. In general, select input to havea maximum counting speed of 30 Hz.(2) Non-contact input (Transistor input)Connect with an open collector. Usetransistors whose characteristics satisfythe criteria given below.VCEO = Min. 20 VIC = Min. 20 mAICBO = Max. 6 μAAlso, use transistors with a residualvoltage of less than 2 V when thetransistor is on.* The short-circuit impedance should be lessthan 1 kΩ.(When the impedance is 0 Ω, the currentcoming from the count input terminal isapproximately 5 mA and from the resetinput terminal is approximately 1.5 mA.)Also, the open-circuit impedance shouldbe more than 100 kΩ.(3) Input wiringWhen wiring, use shielded wires ormetallic wire tubes, and keep the wirelengths as short as possible.2) Output connectionSince the transistor output of counter isinsulated from the internal circuitry by aphoto-coupler, it can be used as an NPNoutput or PNP (equal value) output. As NPN outputAs PNP output3 41 2 56ResetinputCountinput3 41 2 ResetinputCountinput563 41 2 56LoadLoad’s powersupply3 41 2 56LoadLoad’s powersupply2. Self-diagnosis functionIf a malfunction occurs, one of the following displays will appear.* Includes the possibility that the EEP-ROM’s life has expired.3. Terminal connection1) When wiring the terminals, refer to the terminal layout andwiring diagrams and be sure to perform the wiring properlywithout errors. An external power supply is required in order to run the mainunit.Power should be applied betweenterminals (1) and (2). Terminal (1) actsas the positive connection and terminal(2) as the negative.2) After turning the counter off, make sure that any resultinginduced voltage or residual voltage is not applied to powersupply terminals (1) through (2). (If the power supply wire iswired parallel to the high voltage wire or power wire, an inducedvoltage may be generated at the power supply terminal.)3) Have the power supply voltage pass through a switch or relayso that it is applied at one time.Display Contents OutputconditionRestorationprocedurePreset values afterrestorationErr-00 MalfunctioningCPU OFFEnter frontreset key orrestartcounterThe preset value atstart-up before theCPU malfunctionoccurred.Err-01 Malfunctioningmemory* 01Operating voltage2 3 456CTi Automation - Phone: 800.894.0412 - Fax: 208.368.0415 - Web: www.ctiautomation.net - Email: info@ctiautomation.net
