Make sure the date andtime have been set correctly (page13).Memory capacityThe total recording capacity (includingyour greeting message) is about 18minutes (KX-TG6473: about 12minutes). A maximum of 64 messagescan be recorded.Note:L If message memory becomes full:– “Messages full” is shown on thehandset display.– The ANSWER ON indicator on thebase unit flashes rapidly when theanswering system is turned on.L When the message memory becomesfull:– If you use the pre-recorded greetingmessage, the unit automaticallyswitches to another pre-recordedgreeting message asking callers tocall again later.– If you recorded your own greetingmessage, the same message is stillannounced to callers even thoughtheir messages are not recorded.Turning the answeringsystem on/offPress {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off theanswering system.■ To turn on:1 {MENU} i {#}{3}{2}{7}2 {OFF}■ To turn off:1 {MENU} i {#}{3}{2}{8}2 {OFF}Note for base unit and handset:L When the answering system is turnedon, the ANSWER ON indicator on thebase unit lights up.Call screeningWhile a caller is leaving a message, youcan listen to the call through the baseunit’s speaker.
