Operation 2-5OperationWhen You Use a Panasonic Proprietary TelephoneIf you use a Panasonic proprietary telephone and the Console, they may have some of the usefulfunction buttons listed below. These buttons make operations simple. The illustrations may differ fromthe buttons on your telephone.AUTO ANSWERMUTEAUTO ANSWER / MUTE: Used to receivean incoming intercom call in the hands-free mode or mute the microphone duringa conversation.ANSWER: Used to answer an incomingcall.AUTO DIALSTOREAUTO DIAL / STORE: Used for SystemSpeed Dialling or storing programchanges.(CO)CO: Used to make or receive an outsidecall. A Loop-CO button supports all lines.Pressing this button seizes an idle lineautomatically. (Button assignment isrequired.)Also used as the desired functionbuttons. (Button assignment is required.)(Only the CO “number” (e.g. 1, 2) may beshown on some telephones.)CONFConference: Used to establish a three-party conversation.FLASH / RCLFLASH / RCL: Used to send a f ashsignal to the Central Office or anotherconnected PBX. Or used to disconnectthe current call and make another callwithout hanging up.FWD/DNDFunction:Located beside the display.Used to perform the displayed function oroperation.Call Forwarding / Do Not Disturb:Used to perform Call Forwarding or DoNot Disturb.Jog Dial: Used to adjust the volume andthe display contrast or select desired itemsfor each function.HOLD HOLD: Used to place a call on hold.INTERCOMINTERCOM: Used to make or receive anintercom call.MESSAGEMESSAGE: Used to leave a messagewaiting indication or call back the partywho left the message waiting indication.MONITORMONITOR: Used for hands-free dialling.You can monitor the party’s voice hands-free.PAUSEPROGRAMPAUSE: Used to insert a pause duringdialling. Used to enter the programmingmode instead of using the PROGRAMbutton.(PF)PROGRAM: Used to enter and exit theProgramming mode.Programmable Function:Located on theupper part of the CO button or on the DSSConsole. Assigns the desired button andused to access the stored function. Mostlyused as a one-touch dialling button.(Only the “F and number” may be shown onsome telephones.)REDIAL(SAVE)REDIAL: Used to redial.RELEASE RELEASE: Used to disconnect the line.SAVE: Used to store a dialled phonenumber and redial.(DSS)DSS: Used to access the extension.(Only the “S” may be shown on sometelephones.)ANSWERMODEMODE: Used to shift the display to accessvarious features.
