16Setting upBattery ChargeAt the time of shipment, the batteries arenot charged. To charge, place thecordless handset on the charger. Pleasecharge the batteries for about 7 hoursbefore initial use.During charging, the charge LED will lightas shown below.During charging Fully chargedThe cordless handset which power is offwill be turned on automatically when it isplaced on the charger.The cordless handset will not operatewhile it is on the charger.If the handset display flashes whenthe cordless handset is lifted off thecharger, please charge the cordlesshandset batteries at least 15 minutes.Battery InformationAfter your Panasonic battery is fullycharged:Ni-MH Batteries (typical 700 mAh)Ni-Cd Batteries (typical 250 mAh)• Times indicated are for peakperformance.• The battery operating time may beshortened depending on usageconditions and ambient temperature.• Clean the charge contacts of thecordless handset and the chargerwith a soft, dry cloth once a month.Clean more often if the unit issubject to grease, dust or highhumidity.
