Recording FeaturesConversations and voice memos can be recorded to anSD memory card.SD Memory Card InformationConfirm the following before recording to an SDmemory card.– A compatible card is inserted (see page 30)• When an SD memory card is inserted,SD isshown in the upper-left corner of the display.– The card has been formatted using the correctformat (see page 31).– The card is not locked (see page 30).• If you insert a locked card, "WriteProtected" is displayed.Note• No more than 100 recordings can be made,regardless of the SD memory card capacity.• When "Memory Full" is displayed, recordingis not possible until other recordings are erased.If the card becomes full while recording,recording will stop.See page 30 for information on approximaterecording time.• While recording, if the amount of recording timeavailable is less than 6 minutes, "RemainingTime Less Than 6 Min." is displayedbriefly, and the display’s backlight flashes untilrecording stops. When less than 1 minute isavailable, "Remaining Time Less Than 1Min." is briefly displayed.• When recording telephone conversations, werecommend informing the other party that theconversation is being recorded.• Be sure to comply with applicable localregulations (laws, ordinances, guidelines, etc.)regarding telephone conversation recording.RecordingConversations1. PressREC during a conversation.• "Remaining Time" and the approximaterecording time available are displayed briefly,then "Conf Recording" and the approximatelength of the call are displayed.2. To stop recording, pressSTOP .• Recording stops automatically when [ ] ispressed.Recording Voice MemosYou can record a voice memo while the unit is instandby mode.1. Press [MENU] while the unit is in standby mode.2. Select "Voice Memo", then pressREC .• "Remaining Time" and the approximaterecording time available are displayed briefly,then "Memo Recording" and the approximatelength of the call are displayed.3. To stop recording, pressSTOP .• Recording stops automatically when a call isreceived.Playing Back Recordings1. PressPLAY .2. Press [ ] or [ ] repeatedly to scroll through thelist of recordings, then pressSELECT .• Recorded conversations are displayed asplus the date and time of the recording.Voice memos are displayed as plus thedate and time of the recording.3. PressPLAY .• Press [BACK] to stop playback.• If the selected recording is less than 1 secondlong, "Unable To Use" is displayed and therecording cannot be played back.4. Press [MENU] to exit.Note• Recordings are saved in PCM format and canbe played back on a computer using WindowsMedia® Player or QuickTime®.
