During charging, the charging lamp will be lit.When charging is completed, an internal elec¬tronic switch will automatically be triggered toprevent overcharging.• Charging will not start if the battery pack iswarm (for example, immediately afterheavy-duty operation).The orange standby lamp will be lit until thebattery cools down. Charging will thenbegin automatically.4. When charging is completed, the charginglamp will start flashing rapidly.5. When in any of the conditions that batterypack is too cool, or the battery pack has notbeen used for a long time, the charging lampstarts flashing slowly to indicate protectivecharging. Protective charging takes longer tofully charge the battery pack, than the stan¬dard charging time. (Max. charging time isapprox. 90 minutes).• If a fully charged battery pack is insertedinto the charger again, the charging lampmay light up and then flash slowly. Afterseveral minutes, the charging lamp mayflash quickly to indicate the charging iscompleted.6. If the charging lamp does not light immedi¬ately after the charger is plugged in, or if afterthe standard charging time the lamp does notgo off, consult an authorized dealer.Note: • When a cold battery (of about 5°C orless) is to be charged in a warm room,leave the battery in the room for at leastone hour and charge it when it haswarmed up to room temperature. (Fail¬ing to do so may result in less than a fullcharge.)• Cool down the charger when chargingmore than two battery packs consecu¬tively.• Do not insert your fingers into contacthole, when holding charger or any otheroccasions.CAUTION: • Do not use power source from anengine generator.• Do not cover vent holes on thecharger and the battery pack.IV.
