- 4 -Personal safety1) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and usecommon sense when operating a power tool. Donot use a power tool while you are tired or underthe influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.A moment of inattention while operating powertools may result in personal injury.2) Use safety equipment. Always wear eyeprotection.Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing pro-tection used for appropriate conditions willreduce personal injuries.3) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switchis in the off position before plugging in.Carrying power tools with your finger on theswitch or plugging in the power tools that havethe switch on invites accidents.4) Remove any adjusting key or wrenchbefore turning the power tool on.A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating partof the power tool may result in personal injury.5) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing andbalance at all times.This enables better control of the power tool inunexpected situations.6) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothingor jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing andgloves away from moving parts.Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can becaught in moving parts.7) If devices are provided for the connection ofdust extraction and collection facilities, ensurethese are connected and properly used.Use of these devices can reduce dust relat-ed hazards.Power tool use and care1) Do not force the power tool. Use the cor-rect power tool for your application.The correct power tool will do the job betterand safer at the rate for which it was designed.2) Do not use the power tool if the switchdoes not turn it on and off.Any power tool that cannot be controlled withthe switch is dangerous and must be repaired.3) Disconnect the plug from the power sourceand/or the battery pack from the power toolbefore making any adjustments, changingaccessories, or storing power tools.Such preventive safety measures reduce therisk of starting the power tool accidentally.4) Store idle power tools out of the reach ofchildren and do not allow persons unfa-miliar with the power tool or these instruc-tions to operate the power tool.Power tools are dangerous in the hands ofuntrained users.5) Maintain power tools. Check for misalign-ment or binding of moving parts, breakageof parts and any other condition that mayaffect the power tools operation. If damaged,have the power tool repaired before use.Many accidents are caused by poorly main-tained power tools.6) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.Properly maintained cutting tools with sharpcutting edges are less likely to bind and areeasier to control.7) Use the power tool, accessories and toolbits etc. in accordance with these instruc-tions and in the manner intended for theparticular type of power tool, taking intoaccount the working conditions and thework to be performed.Use of the power tool for operations differentfrom those intended could result in a hazard-ous situation.Battery tool use and care1) Ensure the switch is in the off positionbefore inserting battery pack.Inserting battery pack into power tools thathave the switch on invites accidents.2) Recharge only with the charger specified bythe manufacturer.A charger that is suitable for one type of bat-tery pack may create a risk of fire when usedwith another battery pack.3) Use power tools only with specifically des-ignated battery packs.Use of any other battery packs may create arisk of injury and fire.4) When battery pack is not in use, keep itaway from other metal objects like paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or othersmall metal objects that can make a con-nection from one terminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals together maycause burns, or a fire.5) Under abusive conditions, liquid may beejected from battery; avoid contact. If con-tact accidentally occurs, flush with water.If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seekmedical help.Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irri-tation or burns.Service1) Have your power tool serviced by a qual-ified repair person using only identicalreplacement parts.This will ensure that the safety of power tool ismaintained.
