6How to remove the built-inrechargeable battery before dis-posal of the trimmerThe battery in this trimmer is notintended to be replaced by con-sumers. However, the battery may bereplaced at an authorized servicecenter. The procedure describedbelow is intended only for removal ofthe rechargeable battery for the pur-pose of proper disposal.1. Disconnect the power cord fromthe AC outlet, and remove thepower cord from the trimmer.2. Remove the blade from the trim-mer. Remove the 4 screws (a).(see fig. 10)3. Remove the body cover (hous-ing). (see fig. 11)4. Remove the battery. (see fig. 12)AttentionBDo not charge the trimmer at tem-peratures below 5°C (41°F) orabove 35°C (95°F), or where it willbe exposed to direct sunlight orother heat sources.BClean the housing only with a softcloth slightly dampened with wateror soapy water. Never use a caus-tic cleaner such as benzene orbleach.BNever immerse the trimmer inwater.BThe trimmer may become warmduring operation and normalrecharging. This is normal.Caution1. Do not use the trimmer near orover basins filled with water.2. Never use it with wet hands.3. Keep out of reach of children.4. Never tamper with the movingparts.5. Do not pick up the trimmer by thecord. It may become detached,causing damage or injury.6. Do not use on animals.7. Never disassemble the trimmer.Take it to a qualified servicemanwhen service or repair is required.8. Do not attempt to use any powercord or adapter other than onespecifically designed for thismodel.
