21RQT7458RecordingTimer recording[HDD] [RAM] [DVD-R]You can enter up to 32 programmes up to a month in advance.Entering VIDEO Plus+ numbers is an easy way of timer recording.You can find these numbers in TV listings in newspapers andmagazines.≥Using VIDEO Plus+ numbers for Satellite stations or Cable TVstationsSet this unit to recognise VIDEO Plus+ numbers for Satellite stationsor Cable TV stations before you start the following operations(➡ page 13, VIDEO Plus+ numbers for Satellite/Cable TV stations).1 Press [VIDEO Plus+].2 Press the numbered buttons to enterthe VIDEO Plus+ number.Press [2] to move back to correct a digit.3 Press [ENTER].≥Confirm the programme and make corrections if necessaryusing [3, 4, 2, 1] (➡page 22, step 3).≥When “-- ---” appears in the “Name” column, you cannot settimer recording. Press [3, 4] to select desired programmeposition. In this case,press [F TIMER] to put the unit in the timer recording standbymode.≥When you programme successive timer recordings to startimmediately one after the other, the unit cannot record the partat the beginning of the later programmes (a few seconds whenrecording with HDD or DVD-RAM and approximately 30seconds when recording with DVD-R).∫ PDC function (➡page 49)As long as a PDC signal is being broadcast by the TV station,even if the broadcast programme time changes, the recordingtime automatically changes to match the new broadcast time.To activate the PDC functionIn step 3 in the PDC column, press [3, 4] to select “ON”.∫ Relief RecordingWhen the recording drive is set to “DVD” for timer recording andif the programme will not fit onto the disc, the recording drive willbe altered to the “HDD” automatically.≥If there is no disc in the tray or the disc cannot be recorded onor when timer recording starts while transferring (dubbing), therecording drive will be altered to the HDD.≥The Direct Navigator shows which programmes were relief-recorded (“ ” is displayed.)
